Dazwischen

It has been a busy year and a half since I found out I was pregnant.

In that time, a lot of things happened... My first solo exhibition, my diploma exhibition, many artworks and various projects have been created in the timeline in between it all.

Between the changes and challenges of my body - physical incapacity and mental distractions - then I drove straight into motherhood.

I continued producing art because I need this balance; many of my new works happened between day naps or little breaks. Painting is not just a job; it is a way of processing and finding new relationships within my surroundings. It is as essential to my being as a way of thinking.

But now... Care work and the professional art world are two spheres that I navigate with professional focus. As my first parental leave ends and the window before my next maternity leave begins, it is important to me to remain present as a woman in the art world - even when the rhythms of life demand pauses.
